Indigenous Cross-Cultural
Language Building Through
Music
This website is a student project and work/dream in progress!
ICCLBTM is a project that looks to promote language learning through global connections and music.
The general idea of this website is to match musical resources featuring Indigenous languages with language learning options. This leads to 3 main paths and purposes:
1) A place to learn about the world and ourselves
-
Look through music to discover how the importance of Indigenous languages can lead to learnings, whether that is history, culture, geography, connections to nature, connections to each other, personal questions, new thoughts, a better understanding of realities, resilience, injustices, hope, needs, initiatives, challenges, connections, community, humanity, belonging, & so much more
2) To showcase inspiration, creativity, and emotion as a tool of language learning
3) To create direct pathways to artist, community, and language learning resources
Discover an endless start to a dream of making a digital music book for Indigenous languages across 5 regions of our world.
Find new and creative learning resources, links to artists, and communities proudly promoting and celebrating their Indigenous languages through music.
Music & Connection
Music is a powerful tool for connection! Connection is a powerful tool for growth and learning. Linguistic musical resources have a place in facilitating language learning, creating wide-reaching connections, and making lasting impacts for individual and community.
Language
Approximately 4000 Indigenous languages exist in and as part of our world! These languages hold knowledge, history, memory, and so much more. Our world can choose to celebrate them and recognize their importance.
